Referrals only surface owners who already decided
Viking's problem was never credibility. It was supply. Referrals and inbound bring you owners who already made the decision to sell, and every broker in the market is chasing that same short list.
The owners worth reaching sit one layer down. Profitable company, no listing, no banker, no succession plan. Nobody has talked to them because nobody can find them. You can't buy that list from Apollo or ZoomInfo. We had to build it.
What we built
We sourced the owner data ourselves, market by market, and verified every contact before a single email went out. No rented lists. The sending infrastructure is dedicated to Viking, warmed and monitored daily so the emails land where they should.
The copy is written by a person and reads like it. An owner who built a company over 30 years can smell a mail merge. Campaigns run in 15+ markets across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, and each market gets its own angle.
The results
In one year, more than 20,000 business owners replied. Over 2,000 of them said they were open to a conversation about selling. Every one of those conversations started in Viking's name, with owners no referral network was reaching.
Viking didn't take our word on any of this. They ran us head-to-head against another vendor. We came in at half the cost and produced twice the leads, which works out to roughly $101 per owner raising their hand about selling. Positive reply rates run 2.5x higher than their previous outbound, and the pipeline shows up every week, whether or not the referral network produces that month.
“Thank you for your work with Viking, particularly your willingness to accommodate us in the campaign design and the operational details. I'm a big fan of Zach and of Visbl.”
